MONDAY 11/11/24
11:00 AM – Veterans Day Program
We invite the Cornwall community to join us in honoring those who have served in our nation’s armed forces. We will have displays that include:
- maps of service areas
- vintage uniforms
- a card-making station
- our “Wall of Honor,” featuring photos of Cornwall veterans or family members who have served
If you would like to include your photos, please call 845-534-8282 to make arrangements for display. A family drop-in event. Light refreshments will be served.
11:30 AM – Creative Writers Group
An adult group where new members are always welcome. This is a drop-in event – no registration required.
3:00 PM – Teen Tech Tutoring
Got tech questions? Let our savvy teen volunteers assist you. Bring your devices and your questions. No appointments needed – first come, first served.

9:30 or 10:30 AM – Family Story Time
Enjoy a story time at the library with your whole family. Please register your child(ren) via the library’s online calendar. Registration opens one week prior to the program.
1:00 PM – Coffee & Conversation: Quit Smoking
Quitting smoking is one of the most important actions you can take to improve your health.
• Lower your risk for 12 types of cancer.
• Lower your risk of cardiovascular disease.
• Increase your life expectancy.
7 Session in-Person Smoking Cessation Support Group. You must attend all sessions. Tuesdays at 1 pm- November 12 – December 17, 2024 and Thursday, December 5. Registration is now open and is required. Registration can be accessed by clicking here.
4:30 PM- Meet the Artist Reception: Cornwall-Highlands Art Alliance Member Exhibition
Celebrate and hear more about the work of the Cornwall-Highlands Art Alliance at our art exhibit reception. Based in New York’s historic Hudson River Valley, Cornwall-Highlands Arts Alliance is a community organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the Arts in both the Town of Cornwall (which includes the village of Cornwall-on-Hudson) and the Town of Highlands (comprised of the village of Highland Falls and the hamlet of Fort Montgomery). Situated on either side of the Storm King Mountain, Cornwall and Highlands communities have long hosted numerous artists, writers, musicians, and performers. This is a drop-in event; no registration required. Cornwall-Highlands Art Alliance Member Exhibition will be on display from November 1 – January 2.

12:00 PM – Cornwall Canasta Card Crusaders
Join us for a meeting of the Cornwall Canasta Card Crusaders! Meet other local people interested in canasta: learn, inspire, encourage & have fun. All skill levels welcome. Weekly Wednesdays! Drop-in event!

The Board of Trustees meetings are held in the Library Community Room and are open to the public.

2:00 PM- Mystery Book Discussion
Book Pick: The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler
Discuss a mystery novel with fellow mystery lovers. Hard copies are available to borrow at the library. Digital e-Books & e-Audios are available through Libby. This is an in-person, drop-in program.
4:30 PM – Readzza Readzza Book Group
Book Pick: Rapunzel’s Revenge by Shannon and Dean Hale
A book group for grades 5 – 8 only. Please register in person when you pick up copy of the book at the library.
4:00 PM- 11:00 PM – Books for the ‘Burgh and Friends! @ Newburgh Brewing Company
Relive the joy of your book fair days while helping us enrich our library with brand new children’s books! This year, the Cornwall Public Library is joining other local libraries to participate in the Books for the ‘Burgh and Friends adult book fair!The aim for this event is to acquire 30 English and Spanish language books to be purchased and donated across all six library locations, including ours! When you buy a book, you’ll receive a complimentary pint of beer and a souvenir pint glass (limited to one per customer). Additionally, for each book purchased, you’ll earn a raffle ticket for a chance to win fantastic prizes. Don’t miss out on the live music entertainment as well!

9:30 AM- Baby & Me (Not-Yet-Walking birth- 18 months)
A fun, one-on-one program for child (not-yet-walking) & caregiver complete with songs, movement, finger-play, rhymes, & books. Space is limited. Registration required through our online calendar one week prior to program.

12:00 PM – Printed Pumpkin Craft
Join us for a festive fall fun craft time as we turn old books into a pumpkin! This program is for adult crafters! All supplies will be provided. This program is sold out! Please call the library at 845-534-8282 to be placed on the wait list.
SATURDAY 11/16/24
11:00 AM – Chess Time
Enjoy a match with a friend or play with someone new. This program is open to all ages and skill levels. A drop-in event – no registration required.
