Obituaries: Ramon G. Kinol

September 12, 2021

RAMON G. KINOL
December 15, 1945 – September 8, 2021
Cornwall, NY

Ramon G. Kinol, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on September 8, 2021 at his home. He was 75 years old.

The son of the late Caesar D. Kinol and Eva Jean (Canigiani) Kinol, Ramon was born on December 15, 1945 in Johnstown, PA.

Ramon was a retired Real Estate Developer for Stillwater Investment Management in Stamford, CT.

In his early life Ray loved fishing in the mountain steams and lakes surrounding his hometown of Johnstown, PA. He was an athlete and always had lots of friends. During the summers he worked in the family business, Kinol Brothers Tile Company, and during college he worked as a beach lifeguard in Wildwood, NJ. His career began as a Landscape Architect and Land Planner in Philadelphia after earning his degree from Penn State and furthering his education at North Carolina State. While living in the area with his young family, he founded the intramural soccer program in Solebury, PA, with his wife, so their daughter and her friends would have a league. That program is still going strong and has provided athletic opportunities to thousands of children. Ray came to the Hudson Valley to be the Director of Operations for Schoonmaker Homes where he was responsible for building numerous homes in Orange County, especially in Warwick. He later used his construction knowledge and skill to manage construction of housing and a child development center in West Point and the new American Airlines Terminal at JFK. But his most proud accomplishment was working with his son and daughter as they developed many large apartment buildings and condominiums in Stamford, CT, where their cornerstones bare his initials. Ray’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by not only his family and friends but by all of those he worked with for his good work ethic, integrity, and his sense of humor.

Ray always had a soft spot for dogs, but his pointers and retrievers were special to him. His family asks that a contribution be made in his name to the Hudson Valley SPCA, 940 Little Britain Rd., New Windsor, NY 12553 or please take a moment to recall a lighthearted story or experience Ray shared with you. He will be missed greatly.

Ramon is survived by his loving wife: Patricia J. Kinol at home; his daughter: Alexandra J. Kinol; his son: Paxton B. Kinol; his daughter-in-law: Tina; his grandchildren: Mackenzie L. Kinol, Austin D. Kinol and Riley P. Kinol; and his sister: Yvonne King and her husband David.

Due to the public health concerns of the Corona Virus (Covid-19), memorial services for Ramon will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc.; to send condolences, please go to www.Quigleybros.com
