Police issue approximately 9 warnings and 16 summonses to drivers including tickets issued for no parking permits.
06/14/21 Police and Fire Dept respond to Academy Ave for a report of a gas odor and find odor coming from sewer.
06/14/21 Police respond to bandstand to advise kids with bikes to vacate.
06/15/21 Police respond to Bayview Ave for a report of a bear siting and scare bear back into the woods.
06/15/21 A subject called Police and stated “people do not come into the village and pick up cans and look at people’s garbage”. Police explained to the caller that it is not a crime and these individuals have been picking up cans for 2 yrs and some village residents leave cans out for them to take.
06/16/21 Police assist with an accident on Rt 218.
06/18/21 Police assist subject that fell off bicycle but refused medical attention.
06/18/21 A caller reported that a bear was in her backyard on Maple Ave. Police responded and scared bear into woods.
06/19/21 Police find dog on Jean Ct. and return it to its owner.
06/19/21 Police respond to a residence which was rented out but had unwanted parties in attendance who caused damage to the residence.
06/21/21 Police rescue a kitten caught in a storm drain.
06/25/21 Police responded to Rt 218 to assist Town of Highlands locate two subjects walking in the roadway.
