The Hudson River ArtFest
CALLING ALL ARTISTS!! The Fourth Annual Hudson River ArtFest will take place from noon to 4pm on June 4, at Tarsio's BowlingTime Lanes located at 2922 Route 9W in New Windsor. Artfest is open to illustrators, painters, sculptors, and photographers; it will be an open/non-juried show. All artwork will be for sale. Any interested artists are welcome, please come join us on Sunday, June 4, 2017 and be a part of the show!!
ArtFest will present $600 in awards, including a $300 prize for the Best in Show category. Award certificates will also be given out for the following categories: People's Choice (all media), Photography, Oil/Acrylic, Drawing/Pen & Ink, Pastel, Watercolor, and Sculpture. The award ceremony will take place at 3pm with renowned Artist Clayton Buchanan (www.claytonbuchananart.com) as the judge. Visitors may vote for their favorite piece for the People's Choice, ballots may be picked up and returned by 2:30pm at the front desk.
New this year, participating artists are invited to submit up to
three Plein Air paintings (paintings created outside) for a chance to win a $100 prize at ArtFest. Artists are encouraged (but not required) to create these paintings at the Kowawese Park at Plum Point, during the morning of June 4, prior to the noon opening of ArtFest. The Kowawese Park is located just off Rt. 9-W in New Windsor, adjacent to the ArtFest location at Tarsio Bowling Time Lanes. The park is situated directly on the Hudson River with spectacular vistas which include Storm King Mountain and Bannerman’s Island. Artist Paul Gould will be there on the morning of June 4, creating a Plein Air painting, and will also continue live painting throughout the show.
The registration fee is $50 for a 10' x 10' space, allocated on a first come, first served basis. Registration deadline is May 30. The registration form can be found below. Applications postmarked by May 15 will receive a $10 discount. Starting this year, ArtFest will be a commission free event! All artists are responsible for handling their own sales transactions.
Set up time will be from 10-11:30am. Breakdown will be from 4-5pm.
