Art Exhibit at Safe Harbors
Opening Reception

6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Safe Harbors of the Hudson, a large-scale redevelopment project in the City of Newburgh that combines housing and the arts, will present more than twenty-five works by Newburgh-based artist Bruno Krauchthaler in its Main Lobby from March 8, 2014 through March, 2015. An opening reception will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2014, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. The reception and exhibition arefree and open to the public.
Bruno Krauchthaler was born in Switzerland in 1957 and moved to the United States in 1977. He has been painting since childhood and sold his first paintings at the age of 17. Click here to read his artist statement and to visit his website:http://www.brunokrauchthaler.com/ABOUT.
lives and building communities through housing and the arts, purchased the old Hotel Newburgh in 2002 and transformed the blighted eyesore into the Cornerstone Residence. Named Supportive Housing Network of New York's "Residence of the Year" in 2007, the Cornerstone is home to 124 adults including the formerly homeless, veterans, those living with mental health diagnoses, artists and low-income working adults in need of affordable housing. The project also includes the Ann Street Gallery, a contemporary arts venue, the Lobby at the Ritz, a live performing arts space and the historic Ritz Theater.
