HHNM Evening Speaker Series
The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum in partnership with the Cornwall Presbyterian Church presents their Winter Evening Speakers Series: A Bright Future for the Electric Car? This lecture will take place on Tuesday, February 25, 7:30 p.m. at the Cornwall Presbyterian Fellowship Hall, 222 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson. Join author David Noland for a fun and lively discussion on the future of the electric car plus see his Telsa and Volt vehicles. High gas prices and growing concerns about climate change from burning fossil fuels, and cutting U.S. dependence on foreign oil all seem like great reasons to own an electric car. Zippy new models that match or exceed conventional car performance and cost only about one-quarter as much to run have helped build their popularity. Yet, concerns about their limited range and high cost have made electric cars a tough sell for the American public. Their green status remains limited because batteries still have to be charged, in most cases, from a grid still powered mostly by fossil fuels. Please join us for this exciting discussion. Refreshments available. For more information visithhnaturemuseum.org or call 845-534-5506, ext. 204. Admission: $7. Members: $5.
