Godspell on Bannerman Island

Don’t miss Newburgh’s premier theatrical group, Just Off Broadway’s encore performance of Godspell performed on Bannerman Island to benefit the stabilization of the Tower.
Godspell received critical acclaim this season, as well as for Just Off Broadway’s triumphant production of Fiddler on the Roof.
SO… What are you waiting for? What better way to help stabilize Bannerman Island than to share this truly remarkable casts energetic, emotional and heartwarming portrayal of the Gospel according to Saint Matthew!
Told in powerful songs and parables that will have you laughing until you cry! The shows ending will have you grabbing for tissues and dancing in the aisles. This cast is ‘ROCKIN’! The concert will be performed in Helen Bannerman’s Garden next to the Bannerman Family residence.
Just Off Broadway Theater Group is based at the historic, West Shore Railroad Station in Newburgh, NY. Their next production is Little Shop of Horrors in October.
The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. would like to thank Executive Artistic Director Joyce A. Presutti and Ed Romanoff for offering this production as a fundraiser for Bannerman Castle Trust. The Estuary Steward will depart from The Beacon Institute Dock in Beacon at 3pm and from Torches Dock in Newburgh at 4:30pm.
The event includes a cruise to the island, a guided tour and a wonderful night of theater with the performance of Godspell.
This is a fund raiser to help raise funds to stabilize the structures on Bannerman Island. The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. is pleased to announce, that we will be starting the stabilization of the Tower Building, by placing steel beams on the walls to support the walls. The project is funded by a matching grant from The Environmental Protection Fund, along with J.M. Kaplan Fund, The Jane Nuhn Charitable Trust and many private donations. The steel is in the process of being fabricated and installation is expected in 5 to 6 weeks. Tiny Houses is the contractor for the project. Jan, Hird Pokorny, architects and Old Strucrtures, engineers. We plan to have this part of the stabilization completed before January.
Funds are still needed to secure the preservation of Bannerman Castle on Pollepel Island. A great way to help is to come to the performance of Godspell on September 21st. You can also make a donation online and get information about Bannerman Island at www.bannermancastle.org $65 per person. FOR RESERVATIONS CALL: 845-831-6346 or go to Zerve: 1-800-979-3370.
