Friends of Environmental Education are invited to shop at Barnes and Noble online or at any store on Sunday, November 18 from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. and support the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum. By presenting a voucher at any Barnes and Noble on those days, or by shopping online with the voucher code, a percentage of all purchases will help raise funds for nature education and for the live animal ambassadors that enliven its education programs. Shoppers can download the voucher at the museum's website at www.hhnaturemusuem.org.
To add to the excitement of this opportunity, museum educators and live animals will be on hand at the Newburgh Barnes and Noble at 1245 Route 300, Newburgh, on Sunday, November 18 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Young Naturalist Preschool will be singing at 1 p.m. Families can meet some of the museum’s native animals, including live reptiles, in the children’s book section! The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum is dedicated to “creating responsible caretakers of the environment” by promoting an understanding and appreciation of the wildlife and natural beauty of the Hudson Highlands. It is a living outdoor classroom of forests, ponds, trails and fields. It provides a multitude of quality educational programs to promote knowledge and appreciation of our natural world at its two locations in Cornwall. For more information, call (845) 534-5506 ext. 204. For a listing of Museum programs visit www.hhnaturemuseum.org.
