SUMMER READING PROGRAM KICK-OFF
From The Cornwall Public Library
CORNWALL, NY – Cornwall Public Library’s 2015 Summer Reading Program officially begins June 29 at 6:00pm with a SUPER FEST all ages kick-off event. Wear a costume or make one at the fest. There will be games to test your super hero powers, and participants of the library’s Art Afternoon program, teen staff and volunteers have been super busy preparing death-defying photo ops for the whole family. If you’ve ever dreamed of scaling buildings like Batman and Robin, now’s the chance!
The library’s Summer Reading program, with the theme of “Every Hero Has a Story” will run all summer and there are many exciting events coming your way. From a DC vs. Marvel comic trivia clash, to an evening with a seasoned comic illustrator and a Minion Mania Party, our Youth Services Department is on a mission to keep kids and teens strengthening their super power – READING – all summer long.
Adults can also get in the action by registering online for the Adult Summer Reading Program. Just read three books, post reviews, and win a library bag or a gift from a local business. Our Adult program will also be featuring lectures from a Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardener and the film classics Chariots of Fire and To Kill a Mockingbird. No matter the age, we believe that it’s important for the entire Cornwall Community to keep reading over the summer.
More information is available at the library, and can also be found on the library’s website and our calendar of events. Visit: www.cornwallpubliclibrary.org or call 534-8282.
