Secret Lives of Venomous Snakes
On Saturday, February 11 at 10 a.m., the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum presents Secret Lives of Venomous Snakes! at the Wildlife Education Center, 25 Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson. Kathy Michell, a regional venomous snake researcher and wildlife rehabilitator, will present a live timber rattlesnake and copperhead, the two venomous snakes that are native to our region.
Using an illustrated lecture she will share information about venomous snake identification, biology and behavior and conservation issues plus survival threats. Participants will learn about these fascinating, misunderstood and reclusive reptiles and will also observe the museum’s resident non-venomous species including the Black Rat snake, Milk snake, and Eastern Hognose. Recommended for adults with or without children and for children ages 5 and up.
