Concert: The American String Quartet
The American String Quartet in concert at 3pm at Orange Hall Theatre, located at the corner of Wawayanda and Grandview Avenues on the Middletown campus of SUNY Orange.
Internationally recognized as one of the world's foremost quartets, the American String Quartet is celebrating its 35th anniversary during the 2010-2011 season. Critics and colleagues hold the Quartet in high esteem and many of today's leading artists and composers seek out the Quartet for collaborations.
Following summer residencies at China's Great Wall International Music Academy and at Colorado's Aspen Music Festival, the Quartet's 2010-2011 season includes performances throughout the United States, Israel, and Europe. U.S. appearances include the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, the Wolf Trap Discovery Series in Vienna, VA, Chamber Music at The UCLA Clark series, and now–Middletown, NY at SUNY Orange.
The American String Quartet will perform selections by Mozart, Beethoven, and Ravel.
Tickets are available online. Admission is $10-general public/ alumni, faculty, staff; $9-senior citizens; and free at the door to all students from any institution. Tickets may also be purchased at the box office starting one hour prior to the performance. This is a performance not to be missed!
