Evening Speaker Series: Native Americans and the Natural World in the Hudson Valley
The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum in partnership with the Cornwall Presbyterian Church presents the Fall Evening Speakers Series: Native American and the Natural World in the Hudson Valley. This lecture will take place on Tuesday, October 5, 7:30 p.m. at the Cornwall Presbyterian Fellowship Hall, 222 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson. Join Dr. Richard Hull, a professor of History at NYU, as he discusses how Native Americans used the natural resources that were found surrounding their communities for medicines, food, building materials, clothing and many other aspects of daily life in their search for sustainability. Pre-colonial Indian populations were the first conservationists in the Hudson River Valley . Dr. Hull is also municipal Historian of the Town of Warwick and has a long association on the boards of the Lower Hudson Chapter of the Nature Conservancy and the Orange County Land Trust. This program is funded, in part, by the New York Council for the Humanities.
