Orange Co. Sabbath of Inclusion

| Adam Pomerantz enjoyed a special moment with his friend Sylvia Handler, who works at his group home in New Windsor, at last Fall's Sabbat of Inclusion |
On June 11th and 12th, Orange County will hold its "Shabbat of Inclusion", coordinated by the Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County. While everyone is always welcome at all of the Orange County synagogues, on this weekend an extra special effort is being made to reach out to those who may have impediments to finding their way to their doors. Congregants will be out in full force to welcome their guests and their hospitality will extend far beyond that evening so that their guests will understand that they are part of the temple families.
In preparation for this special Sabbath, letters and invitations have been sent to each and every group home, as well as nursing homes, senior residences, and agencies which serve persons with a variety of disabilities and challenges letting them know that the synagogues are always a welcoming place to people of ALL abilities. For seniors who no longer have cars, live in residential facilities or who are unable to drive at night, the synagogues will be delighted to help provide transportation assistance if needed.
The schedule is as follows:
Congregation Agudas Israel, Newburgh 6/12 9:30 am
Congregation Beth Hillel, Walden 6/11 7:30 pm
Congregation B'nai Torah, Greenwood Lake 6/11 7:00 pm
Congregation Eitz Chaim, Monroe 6/11 7:00 pm
Monroe Temple-Beth El, Monroe 6/11 8:00 pm
Temple Beth Jacob, Newburgh 6/11 7:30 pm
Temple Sinai, Middletown 6/12 9:15 am to 12:30 pm
