In this beginner's workshop we will learn the basic pen strokes needed to form the letters.
Calligraphy is less about writing than it is about drawing and this workshop is a good start to the study of italic lettering. We will be using dip pens and ink.
Participants are asked to bring a pencil, ruler and a small pillow to sit on for proper writing position.
Cost: $40 (includes the cost of paper, nib and holder, ink and teaching materials).Limited to 6 participants.

Rita Ponessa has been studying hand lettering for over 30 years and has been a member of the Society of Scribes in Manhattan for 10 years. Her primary focus is on the copperplate and the italic hands. She is the owner of ritaINK in Cornwall on Hudson.
