The final night of the Mike Levine Workshop is open to the public for a doubleheader event Saturday, May 1, starting at 7 p.m. First, Neil Swidey of the Boston Globe will lead a roundtable discussion on the Future ofNews, then the Dan Brother Band will bring on the blues as only this exemplary trio can.
Swidey will be joined by more than 20 journalists from across the nationwill talk about what's happening to journalism and the news business as it goes through its biggest transformation in recent history. Then comes the Dan Brother Band, now at the top of the notch for the kind of rock-edged blues that has become the calling card of the DBB.
The Roundtable starts at 7 p.m. The music starts at 9 at the ShandeleeLake Inn, Livingston Manor, NY. Gain admission for a donation of $10 for the roundtable and band, or $12 for band only. Cash bar will be available. Proceeds benefit the writers workshop, named for the late columnist, Mike Levine.
To get to the Shandelee Lake Inn, take Route 17, Exit 96, make a quick right, left and then right onto Main Street, Livingston Manor; keep going straight up the hill about 4 miles to the Back Shandelee Road.
