Human Weapon Documentary at The Grail
The Meet the Makers series at the Cornwall Grail Center presents a screening and discussion of “Human Weapon,” a 60-minute documentary examining the history and complexities of the suicide bombing phenomenon on Wednesday, April 21, from 7 to 9 pm. Nancy Peckenham, the co-writer and U.S. producer of the documentary, will lead a discussion after the screening, which will be held at The Phoenix, 119 Duncan Avenue, in Cornwall-on-Hudson, . Filmed in 2002 in Iran, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Israel, Palestine, Europe and the United States, “Human Weapon” weaves dramatic, previously unseen footage and powerful personal stories with interviews of key militants whose organizations use suicide bombing as part of their strategies.
Peckenham is a resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson and a former executive producer at CNN who has produced a half-dozen documentaries on issues of global conflict. She is also the editor and founder of News from Cornwall and Cornwall-on-Hudson, an online source of local news and information.
