Village Trustee Candidate Forum
The three candidates for trustee seats in the village of Cornwall-on-Hudson will appear in a public forum at Village Hall, 321 Main Street, in Cornwall-on-Hudson, on Saturday, March 6, 2010, from 10 to 11:30 am.
Incumbents Barbara Gosda and Rick Gioia, both first-term trustees who are seeking re-election, will appear along with James Kane, a lawyer who is making his second run for a trustee seat.
In the forum, each candidate will make a brief presentation about why the or she is running for office and then they will be asked to respond to questions presented by the moderator, Nancy Peckenham. Peckenham is the editor of the online news source, News from Cornwall and Cornwall-on-Hudson, the sponsor of the forum.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the forum to find out where the candidates stand on important issues facing the village and to hear about their visions for the future. The public may also submit questions in advance for the candidates. Anyone wishing to submit a question may email it to [email protected] or may submit it in person at least ten minutes before the forum is to begin.
The forum will be followed by Voter Registration Day from 12 noon to 5 pm conducted by the Village Clerk, where any eligible resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson who has not yet registered may sign up to vote in the election, which will be held on Tuesday, March 16th.
