Museum Hosts Speaker William Alexander Author of: 52 Loaves: One Man’s Relentless Pursuit of Truth, Meaning and a Perfect Crust
On Wednesday, May 5 at 7 p.m . the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will host Cornwall Resident and Author William Alexander at the Wildlife Education Center, 25 Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson. Join Mr. Alexander as he tells stories behind his adventure in “eating local” and the book that has been called “serious, irreverent, funny and informative.” Mr. Alexander sets out to make the perfect loaf of peasant bread by baking a loaf every week until he gets it right. Like in his last book, “The $64 Tomato” his Cornwall garden is a laboratory where he builds a clay oven and grows his own wheat. His quest also takes him to Morocco, Paris and a medieval monastery in Normandy. Doors at the Wildlife Education Center will open at 6 p.m. for lecture participants to enjoy the Hall of Animals and the Sturgeon Swims through Time Exhibit. Mr. Alexander will also be available early for a book signing.
Admission: $7. Museum Members: $5. Pre-registration is required . Walk-ins will be seated after 6:45 p.m. if space allows. For registration and information call 845-534-5506, ext. 204.
