Tug Boat Tours
The Tug Cornell will be on the Newburgh waterfront during River Art Walk/Last Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. for free public tours.
Built in 1949 by Jakobson Shipyard in Oyster Bay, NY, the Lehigh Valley Railroad (LVRR) Tug Cornell served as a means to transport rail cars via barge across NY harbor from 1950 to 1971. She was the first of four tugs initially built for the LVRR all boasting the use of diesel-electric propulsion, two more tugs would follow soon to complete the fleet of six.
