Suburban Foragers
On Saturday, October 15, at 10:30 a.m. the “Suburban Foragers” will present a two-hour workshop on wild foods and medicinals at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum’s Outdoor Discovery Center on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road, Cornwall.
The Suburban Foragers are a group of environmentalists, herbalists and wild crafters concerned about the future of the earth, each with their own specialized skills and knowledge that they would like to share with others. Program participants will gain first-hand knowledge of: plant identification, do’s and don’ts of gathering and cooking, recipe preparation, nutritional and medicinal value, rules and philosophies of foraging and sustainable practices. Come learn myths and legends surrounding wild edibles. After the program take a walk at the Outdoor Discovery Center in search of some wild edibles.
