Trout Weekend at the Wildlife Education Center
Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY –Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6, from 12p.m.-4p.m.,the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will be hosting: Trout Weekend at the Museum’s Wildlife Education Center, 25 Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson. Brook Trout are New York State’s freshwater fish. “Brook trout survive in only the coldest and cleanest waters and can serve as environmental indicators,” says environmental educator Pam Golben. “Strong wild brook trout populations indicate excellent water quality while a decline in wild brook trout populations may be an early warning that the health of the ecosystem is at risk.” In celebration of this two day event, activities will include: Special “Meet the Animals” at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. with live fish presentations, Brookie feeding time at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Visitors will also enjoy crafts and activities on both days.
