Rick Lisker Art Show
Visual Instincts: Art Work by Rick Lisker at Cornwall Town Hall, 183 Main Street, Cornwall. Open Monday through Friday 8:30-4:30
Rick explains his work:
J.R.R. Tolkien once said “Not all who wander are lost.” Sometimes wandering is the point. My name is Rick Lisker and I am an artist living in the Hudson Valley. I consider my unique style of art kinetically driven by music and my imagination. Each drawing has what I call its own “rhythm and flow.” I listen to music while I draw which creates visual roads that lead me to images. An initial viewing may not be enough and I invite viewers to allow themselves to wander as different layers reveal themselves, as I work in layers. I work on many pieces, all in various stages of completion, at any given time. Some drawings I work on over several weeks or months, making as many as 15 different versions till the spirit of the drawing is captured. My standard medium is archival ink on archival paper, augmented at times with color pencils or soft oil pastels. These limited edition prints, also printed on archival paper with archival ink, are authorized by the artist.
I have always been inspired by life, my surroundings and my family. I am happily married to my best friend and we have a wonderful daughter. They are my first and best critics.
I find peace and calm, as well as energy and inspiration, in my drawings and I hope you do too. When you view my drawings, you enter my world and travel where I’ve been. Welcome.
