Learn Orienteering Basics then Navigate a Course
On Sunday, October 7 come to the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum’s Outdoor Discovery Center, on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road, Cornwall, to learn and practice Orienteering: the exciting and fun sport that uses map and compass to navigate through a woodland course of checkpoints! New to Orienteering? Beginning promptly at 10 a.m., Museum Educator, Carl Heitmuller will offer a one hour lesson on Orienteering Basics which will include: map reading, trail safety, how to navigate through an orienteering course and compass reading. The Orienteering Course will be open from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Recommended for adults with or without children and children ages 6 and older. Cost: Adults $10 and children ages 6-12, $8.00 Museum Members: $7 and $5 for children ages 6-12. Refreshments available for purchase. Dress for the weather. Heavy rain may cancel.
