Quest Hike Bandana Weekend
On Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will celebrate the 2011 season opening of its Discovery Quest hiking trails by giving out free Hudson Highlands Nature Museum Bandanas (up to four per family) for any Quest hike taken. Fun for all ages and experience levels, these hiking trails are a unique, adventurous and interactive way for adults and families to spend time outdoors learning about nature at the Outdoor Discovery Center, on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road, Cornwall.
Quest hikes range from an easy, stroller-friendly trail to a more vigorous hike of nearly two miles – and all trails are well-marked. The trails also cover a variety of habitats, from wetlands to meadows to forest, and provide wonderful opportunities to observe wildlife. Plus, there’s a great picnic area to make a full day out of the adventure.
Admission to the Quest trails is free! However, you can not "take a Quest" without a Guidebook. Quest Guidebooks are $5 each and may be shared. At least one guidebook must be purchased to receive the free bandanas. The visitor center/gift shop and trails are open Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through mid- November at the Museum’s Outdoor Discovery Center. Try just one, and you’ll soon be back to complete all four. To learn more about Discovery Quest hiking trails and other Museum programs, visit www.hhnaturemuseum.org
