The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum presents Owl Prowl, choose either Friday, February 1 from 7 p.m. -9 p.m. at the Wildlife Education Center, 25 Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson or Saturday, February 2 from 7 p.m. - 9p.m. at the Outdoor Discovery Center on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road.
Join Environmental Educator Carl Heitmuller either evening for some exciting owl facts and fiction. Bundle up as you venture outdoors into the woods to search for these birds of the night. Learn to recognize the calls of our native owls plus meet one of the museum’s live owls. “Owls are silent hunters. Their feathers are designed to make practically no sound as they fly,” said Carl. “There are more than 130 species of owls worldwide and contrary to popular belief, owls cannot turn their head entirely around 360 degrees.” This popular program has attracted Eastern screech owls and barred owls in the past. For adults with or without children and children ages 5 and up.
