Rev. Robert Hare
The Cornwall Presbyterian Church will host guest preacher Rev. Robert Hare on Memorial Day Sunday, May 25. Rev. Hare’s memorable career has involved activism for civil rights, hospice care, and most recently, prison ministry.
He served congregations in Richmond, Virginia, Cleveland, Ohio, Metro New York, and, in 1975, received a call to serve the Scarborough Presbyterian Church, Briarcliff Manor. Currently, he serves as Vice President of Rising Hope, a college level course of study leading to a Certificate in Ministry and Human Services at the Sing Sing Correctional facility in Ossining. The program is designed to prepare men in prison to gain employment in the helping professions both while in prison and upon release.
