Village Police Dept. Open House
As part of National Police Week, the Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department welcomes the public to visit their offices behind village hall at 321 Hudson Street from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Officers will be on hand to answer your questions and may demonstrate some of the peacekeeping techniques available to them.
There will be static displays of equipment, vehicles, D.A.R.E. and tours of the station including literature for both children and adults. Village officers will also perform live demonstrations:
1:00PM: Use of bicycles in police work,
2:00PM: Use of Fatal Vision goggles in educating young people on the effects of drugs and alcohol on motor and perception skills,
3:00PM: Training and use of Defensive Tactics including an explanation and demonstration of the TASER electronic control device.
As the Village Hall parking lot will also be hosting a Riverfest car wash, visitors are asked to use on street parking and the Walden Savings Bank parking lot.
