Double Dash Community Run/Walk
Run, walk or simply join St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) for community fun on Sunday, April 22 at 8 a.m. at the Newburgh Waterfront. SLCH is excited to launch its first annual Double Dash event benefiting the SLCH Center for Cardiac Care. Double Dash is a competitive 10k road race and non- competitive 5k run/walk. Registration is $25 pre- event and $30 day of event.
Why Double Dash for the heart? Heart disease is the lead cause of death in the United States. Obesity is also a growing epidemic for young people. This is a combined effort to bring the community together in support of its community hospital to raise funds in support of SLCH Center for Cardiac Care.
“Obesity and heart disease are major health concerns facing society,” said Sue Sullivan, Vice President, Advancement and Government Affairs. “Double Dash is a new, amazing idea to engage the community, while also supporting with the center for Cardiac Care and the great service it provides.”
The event will include family-friendly activities including a health fair, food vendors and a car show. Bring your children to enjoy our Kids Corner that will feature bouncy houses, face painting and more! Double Dash is an opportunity to have fun, build community and raise awareness for our local hospital.
