Skywarn Training
The Orange County Amateur Radio Club in conjunction with the Orange County ARES/RACEs offers this free training presented by a meteorologist from the National Weather Service from 7 to 10 p.m. at Munger Cottage.
Skywarn is a volunteer program with over 230,000 trained severe weather spotters who provide timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service.
Ham radio operators, police and fire personnel, dispatchers, EMS workers, public utility workers, emergency managerment teams, weather hobbyists, boaters and other concerned private citizens would benefit from this workshop.
Learn the basic of thunderstorm development, storm structure and how to identify potential severe weather features.
