Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt (R,C,I,LBT,SAM - New Windsor), today, presented the Cornwall Police Department with $50,000.00 in grant funding for the purchase of a heavy-duty rescue vehicle:

Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt stated, “It is a real privilege to represent Cornwall and to award the Town of Cornwall Police Department a $50,000 grant. Now more than ever we must be funding our police departments and fully supporting the men and women who wear blue serving to keep our communities safe. Thank you to Chief Hazard and your officers for all you do for the community. I will always put our local cops first and keep delivering for my neighbors in Cornwall.”

Cornwall Police Chief Todd Hazard stated, “I’d like to thank Assemblyman Schmitt for providing this grant. Having a heavy-duty rescue vehicle will help not only in our response times in emergencies but will provide an enhanced tool helping to protect and serve our community. This is another example of Assemblyman Colin Schmitt understanding the needs of and backing the police. Thank you, Assemblyman Schmitt.”

Kevin Hines, Orange County Legislator stated, “I want to thank Assemblyman Schmitt for backing the blue and once again supporting the Town of Cornwall. This $50,000 grant will positively impact our town and our police department. I will continue to partner with the Assemblyman on support for our local first responders.”

Dorey Houle, Monroe Town Councilwoman stated, “I am happy to serve on the Assemblyman’s local government and grants advisory group and be part of the presentation of this $50,000 grant to support a great local police department. We must always fund and support our police here in the Hudson Valley.”
