National Guard to Train for Disaster Preparedness
CORNWALL, NY – On Tuesday, June 9 at 6:30pm, Cornwall Public Library will be offering a Citizen Preparedness Training program offered through the New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps. The program gives residents the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. First Lieutenant Thomas Frost and First Lieutenant Brett M. White of the National Guard will be on hand to conduct a training event to help local citizens prepare and develop a family emergency plan. All attendees will receive a free NYS Disaster Preparedness Kit (one per family) containing items to assist in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.
