CORNWALL, NY -  The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum has elected four new Trustees, Executive Director Jackie Grant announced today. They are Stephen Bywater of Cornwall, Lisa Kelly of Goshen Anne Strain of New Paltz and Thomas Sperzel of Ringwood, NJ.

Mr. Bywater, as a founding partner of RegionalHelpWanted.com, built HudsonValleyHelpWanted.com, a local internet job board. As Chief Technical Officer (CTO), Mr. Bywater managed web development and systems administration teams, conceived and prioritized website enhancements, and organized the technical integration of acquisitions. This business grew into a network of 350 geographically-based recruitment sites with $275 million annual revenue before it was sold. Mr. Bywater, who grew up in Newburgh, is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a degree in Education. He serves on the board of Empowered by Play, a national nonprofit that promotes imaginative play.

Ms. Kelly is the Key Account Director at Focus Media, the region's leading advertising, marketing and public relations firm. A recognized expert in marketing via social media, she joined Focus Media in 2010 and was promoted to her current position in 2011, where she manages a diverse client roster. Previously, she was the Public Relations Manager at Madden Communications and Marketing, which was acquired by Focus Media in 2010. She earned her B.A. in Communications Arts from St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, NY.

Ms. Strain has been active in nonprofit work in the Hudson River Valley for more than 40 years, including Christ Church Vestry, Poughkeepsie Day Nursery, Poughkeepsie Junior League, the Garden Club of Orange & Dutchess Counties and the Waterman Bird Club. She served as Treasurer of most of these organizations and notes that this experience went "from row and column style to the computer." Ms. Strain is a graduate of Vassar College. Her connection to the Museum stretches to her youth when she visited her grandparent’s home which was located across from what is now the Outdoor Discovery Center (Kenridge Farm).
Mr. Sperzel has been engaged in the community banking industry for nearly 20 years and currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Empire State Bank. Mr. Sperzel obtained his Certified Public Accountant license in the State of New York and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He has been active in groups such as Habitat for Humanity and looks forward to increase community involvement with the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum.

Museum Board Chair John Bliss said: "we are absolutely delighted to have these accomplished individuals join the Board. They bring distinct, complementary skill sets that will help us continue to teach a growing number of people of all ages to be responsible stewards of the environment."
