General News: Hudson Line Train Suspended

July 19, 2013

07/18/13
from Jim Lennon

Hudson Rail Line Commuter Nightmare?
Many Cornwall residents take the Metro North Hudson Line to work.

There is a big freight train derailment on the Metro North Hudson Line in the Bronx which has blocked both of the tracks and thus adversely effecting passenger service - unless cleared commuters will have to be bussed between stations during the morning rush!

It is reportedly a 10 car derailment and it is blocking both tracks in the rock cut between Marble Hill and Spuyten Duyvil.

There are 2 tracks there and then the line goes to 3 just north of spuyten duyvil and goes to 4 about half mile north of there.

As of 12:40 am 7/19 Hudson Line Service is suspended until further notice.

Please check the MTA site here for further information.
