Jim Lennon stopped by DeCicco’s today to check on the progress towards the store opening this Friday, February 8th. Jim spoke with the store manager Ainsley Brown.
Ainsley gave Jim a tour of some of the sections in DeCicco’s and spoke about the products that DeCicco’s will feature.

Ainsley said “I’m very proud of this ten foot section of organic products, we have over 120 different organic and natural items together, we realize we have people with celiac disease in this neighborhood so we have a gluten free section and also feature gluten free products in our frozen food section.”

He also added how DeCicco’s tries to please everyone. If you come in to the store and you need an item they don’t have, you can leave your name and number with customer service and they will try and get the item for you.

DeCicco’s is also dedicated to local vendors such as Newburgh Brewery and Rushing Duck Brewing Co. of Chester, NY. The store will feature twelve beers on tap, fresh beer that you can come in with your growler (a reusable jug used to transport fresh beer) fill up and take home. DeCicco’s will have over 400 different types of beer from Bud Lite to beers with names on the edge like Arrogant Bastard, the Raging B&%ch. The store will also sell organic food in the frozen department, house a Greek food section and a milk section with both organic and soy milk and products from Ronnybrook Farm Dairy here in the Hudson Valley. According to the Ronnybrook Farm Dairy website, the farm owners go beyond organic by providing comfort stall barns with individual cow mattresses for every cow.

Ainsley Brown also addressed DeCicco’s awareness of the economy. “We know times are hard, we have a little for every pocket, we will have weekly specials and try to do for everybody.”

DeCicco’s of Cornwall, NY will open this Friday, February 8th 2013 at 9am.
