General News: Storm King School Announcement

In celebration of the arrival of new Head of School Paul Domingue, The Storm King School in Cornwall-on-Hudson has established a new merit scholarship program for rising eighth-grade students in the local area. The $8,000 scholarship covers more than 60% of the tuition for an eighth-grade day student for the 2012-2013 school year. The Head’s Middle School Scholarship at The Storm King School is renewable for up to four additional years. In addition, the scholarship amount will increase each year: $9,000 for ninth grade, $10,000 for tenth grade, $11,000 for eleventh grade, and $12,000 for twelfth grade for a total value of $50,000 over five years.
The recipient of the scholarship will be an academically strong student who will take full advantage of the School’s college-preparatory curriculum, extraordinary offerings in the arts, and varied sports and outdoor adventure options.
“Although overall our enrollment for the fall is as strong as last year, we still have some space for local day students, especially in the eighth grade. While our high school college preparatory program is well respected, I don’t think everyone realizes that we offer an eighth grade to give students a head start on preparing for college and meaningful lives,” said Director of Admissions Joanna Evans.
