General News: Moodna Bridge to Get Repairs

April 04, 2012

By Nancy Peckenham

The steel bridge on Route 32 that runs over the Moodna Creek will get $2.6 million worth of work under the NY Works program announced Tuesday by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo. A total of $1.2 billion in state and federal money will be spent statewide on fixing up and replacing roads and bridges and 20 percent of that will be spent in the Hudson Valley. Officials say that thousands of jobs will be created by the roads and bridge projects and will reduce future maintenance costs.

The Moodna bridge will get a new deck replacement.

State Senator Bill Larkin of Cornwall-on-Hudson applauded the Governor’s action. In a statement he said, “In previous years, New York's infrastructure was placed on the back-burner while money was shifted to other areas. Governor Cuomo knows how important it is to keep New York's roads and bridges up and running, particularly in the Hudson Valley, and NY Works will ensure our families are riding on the safest roads possible."

Comments:

What about the bridge on Forge Hill Road that fell into the Moodna. It could use a new deck too. And a new everything else as far as I can tell.
