General News: Former Yankee in Book-Signing Benefit

Former Yankees player Jim Leyritz will be signing copies of his new book, Catching Heat, on Thursday, January 26, in Wappingers in a benefit for the Hillside Food Outreach, which provides food to those in need throughout Westchester and Putnam Counties.
Leyritz is a former MLB catcher, infielder, designated hitter, and World Series Champion with the New York Yankees (1990-1996, 1999-2000). "The King" is best known for hitting numerous postseason, playoff and World Series home runs that either won, tied, or changed the momentum of several series.
In his recent book, Catching Heat, Leyritz takes readers inside the batter's box at one of the most famous World Series of all time, then down a path of tragedy as he shares his tumultuous life after the ticker tape, and how he found his way to redemption.
The book signing will be at Extra Innings in Wappingers from 3 to 5 pm. The book price, with Leyritz autograph, is $25, with a portion of the price going to Hillside Food Outreach. (Visit the Extra Innings website for more information, including directions.)
