A young actor who is a fourth-grade student at Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School will be making his Off-Broadway debut on Thursday in The 8-Minute Madness Festival 2012.

Hayden Skigen, age 9, has been busy traveling back and forth to NYC for rehearsals for the piece “Numbers Speak” that is part of the festival produced by Turtle Shell Productions. There will be eight performances of the show and in each, audience members have an opportunity to vote for “Best Performance by an Artist” and “The Best Playwright of 2012.”

Hayden, along with his brother, Maddox, who is in first grade at COHES, started performing in regional musical theater this past summer and the two have been seen locally in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, “Little Shop Of Horrors”, and “Sleepy Hollow, the Musical.” Maddox just recently made his film debut as “Chad” in the short film “Ron and Abbey” and hopes to someday play the role of Gavroche on Broadway in “Les Miserables.” Both boys study acting and voice with Cornwall/New Windsor local, Phil Hernandez.

Hayden will also be performing next month in the Theatreworks USA 50th Anniversary Celebration in New York City. Theatreworks USA, the nation's leading not-for-profit professional theatre for family audiences, and will present its 50th Anniversary Celebration gala Feb. 12 at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

So exciting for the Skigen boys! Hayden break a leg - We'll see you opening night... And Maddox, I am sure we'll be coming to see you soon for something in the near future as well! Keep up the good work : )
