General News: Guide to Temporary Location of Co. Services

Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana reminds residents and businesses that while the County’s Government Center in Goshen is closed due to storm damage, County government is continuing to provide essential services at these temporary locations:
County Clerks Office – is operating out of the offices of the Department of Social Services (DSS), 11 Quarry Road, Goshen, offering the following limited services of recording and filing of documents and taking in maps. Open: Mon. – Fri., 9 am – 5 pm. Contact: (845) 291-4400.
County Clerk Records – is operating out of the Parry Building at Valley View Center, 6 Glenmere Cove Road, Goshen, including title search services. Open: Mon.-Fri., 9 am – 5 pm. Contact: (845) 360-6810.
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) – are available at their regular locations in Middletown, Newburgh, and Port Jervis. Open: Mon. – Fri., 9 am – 5 pm. Please note: Extended hours has just been announced for Middletown, Wednesday’s until 7:30 pm and continues in Newburgh, Thursday’s until 7:30 pm. Contact: (845) 346-1180. Currently, there are no DMV hours in Goshen.
District Attorney – Goshen Office – is operating out of their Middletown offices at 18 Seward Avenue. Open: Mon. – Fri., 8:30 am – 5:15 pm. Grand Jury is meeting at the Emergency Services Center, 22 Wells Farm Road, Goshen. Contact: (845) 615-3640.
General Services – is operating out of the Department of Emergency Services, 22 Wells Farm Road, Goshen. Open: Mon. – Fri., 9 am – 5 pm. All bids and proposals will be accepted and opened at Office for the Aging, Attn: Gina Richichi, 18 Seward Avenue, 2nd Floor, Middletown. Contact: (845) 615-3719. Municipalities in receipt of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Efficiency Block Grants should be reminded requests for reimbursement are due: Round 1 & 2 recipients – work must be completed by October 31, 2011; Round 3 recipients – work must be completed by November 30, 2011. Human Resources / Civil Service – applications for civil service exams should be brought to the Department of Public Works (DPW) Administration building, 2455-2459 Route 17M, Goshen. Open: Mon. – Fri., 8 am – 4 pm. Contact: (845) 291-2750.
Passports – is operating out of the offices of the Department of Social Services (DSS), 11 Quarry Road, Goshen. Open: Mon. – Fri., 9 am -5 pm. Contact: (845) 291-4270. Currently, no evening hours are available.
Pistol Permits & Veteran’s Discount Cards – is operating out of the Office of the Sheriff, 110 Wells Farm Road, Goshen. Open: Mon. – Fri., 9 am – 5 pm. Contact: (845) 291-3060.
Probation – all individuals sentenced to probation must report to one of our satellite offices, Middletown (845) 346-1140, Newburgh (845) 568-5000, or Port Jervis (845) 858-1400. Those seeking an Order of Protection or other crime victim services may be served at the Family Court Clerk’s Office, 2nd Floor, Orange County Court Complex, 285 Main Street, Goshen. Open: Mon. – Fri., 9 am – 5 pm. Contact: (845) 291-7781.
Tax and Finance – to make property tax payments or to pick-up certificates of residency please visit the County’s Real Property Office, 124 Main Street, 1st Floor, Goshen. Open: Mon.- Fri., 9 am – 5 pm. Contact: (845) 291-2480 for the tax division, and (845) 291-2497 for certificates of residency.
Please note that the new Orange County Court Complex, holding the Supreme, County and Family Courts of the 9th Judicial District in New York, located at 285 Main Street in Goshen, remains open.
