General News: Motorcyclist in Fatal Accident on Rt. 9W

A motorcyclist lost control of his 2009 Yamaha on Route 9W near the mountain overlook on Saturday afternoon, crossing into the northbound land and colliding with a 2008 Hyundai Sante Fe.
Cornwall police say that Robert H. Youmans, 22, of New Windsor died at the scene.
Elizabeth Moore, 35, of West Point, NY, the driver of the second vehicle, was treated at the scene by the Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corp and was taken to the Cornwall Campus of St.Lukes/Cornwall Hospital for her injuries. The Town of Cornwall Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Highland Engine Company, The New York State Police, the Town of Highlands Police and the Orange County Medical Examiners Office.

Wasn't it last year that the same exact thing happened, in that same exact spot?!?
I have always said that break in the median is in the worst place possible. I cringe driving northbound past that spot on a rainy day knowing that if someone slides they will shoot straight across the highway unabated. That opening needs to be moved or closed off before another poor soul pays the price. RIP.
