Beltane returns, this year arriving on Saturday, April 30th at Palaia Vineyards on Sweet Clover Road in Highland Mills. Beltane revives an ancient Celtic tradition that celebrates the arrival of spring.

The Beltane festival in Cornwall was started four years ago by Bernadette Montana, owner of Brid’s Closet, who organized a series of metaphysical workshops that are tied to New Age and pagan traditions, including tarot and astrology readings. People are invited to dress in Renaissance, fantasy or other creative costumes to check out the wares from vendors, move to the drums of Raquy and the Cavemen or dance around the traditional Maypole.

Other entertainment will be provided by belly dancers Jezebel Wood, Elizabeth Muise and Shane Chikeles, along with sacred music by Jellianna on guitar with Native American frame drum and chant.

Entrance to Beltane is $25, children under 12 are free.
