From the Friends of Sands Ring Homestead Museum

This year in honor of the 250th birthday of Sands Ring Homestead, the Board of Trustees is offering docent-led tours on Saturday, July 31. Costumed guides will lead tours of the Homestead, discussing its historical features and furnishings, while sharing stories about the Sands and Ring family members. Sands Ring Homestead is one of the oldest Dutch colonials in the Hudson Valley.

Tours will be offered at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. and will last approximately 40 minutes. Visitors can tour the colonial herb garden before or after their house tour. The cost is $5 per adult, $3 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. The tours are free for members of Friends of Sands Ring Homestead Museum.

Sands Ring Recipe Books will also be available for a $15 donation at this event. Each recipe book includes recipes from the Sands Ring Homestead Collection and from members of the community, Sands Ring Homestead history and pictures, along with fascinating facts about herbs.

Donations are tax-deductible. All proceeds benefit the Homestead’s New Roof Fund. The Ralph E. Ogden Foundation has committed to a matching grant of $5000. Friends of Sands Ring Homestead Museum appreciates your support in helping us meet our goal.

Pre-registration for the tours is strongly recommended as space is limited. To make reservations call: 845-534-4829 or e-mail [email protected]. To learn more about becoming a member of Friends of Sands Ring Homestead Museum or to donate to our New Roof Fund, visit www.sandsring.org.
