The new cancer care center at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital will benefit from a generous grant from Key Bank. Hospital officials say a portion of the $30,000 grant from Key Bank will fund a support service at the Littman Cancer Center called “No One Goes It Alone.”

The cancer center works with Jewish Family Services to offer the program, which provides services to facilitate treatment, reduce stress, and enhance a sense of communal support for cancer patients and their families who lack sufficient resources. SLCH spokeswoman Judi Stokes says that with the service, cancer patients have access to as transportation to doctor’s appointments and treatments, grocery shopping, friendly visits, telephone reassurance and assistance with light household chores.

Key Bank runs seven local branches in New Windsor, Newburgh and Washingtonville.
