From St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital

A group of Cornwall High School football players volunteered their time recently to help further the mission of St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital’s (SLCH) Auxiliary, which supports hospital initiatives to enhance care and services. Joined by their coach, Jim Schmidt, the seven students picked up furniture donated by members of our community and delivered it to the Auxiliary’s New to You Boutique, an upscale thrift shop located at 436 Blooming Grove Turnpike (Route 94) in New Windsor.

“The Auxiliary is very grateful to these young men who volunteered their time and energy to help expand our inventory of gently used furniture, clothes, furnishings and accessories,” said Barbara Mehar, SLCH Auxiliary Board President. “The hospital offers many opportunities for volunteers of every age, and we encourage our community to participate — whether donating items to the Boutique or giving of their time and talent.”

SLCH’s Community Ambassador program offers a variety of opportunities for volunteers to get involved in working with patients and visitors, or in hospital offices. Volunteers also are needed to work in the hospital gift shops and New to You Boutique. Volunteers come from all walks of life with varying personal experiences.

To become an SLCH Community Ambassador, call (845) 568-2391, or e-mail [email protected]. Applications are available at www.stlukescornwallhospital.org under the Community Ambassador tab.

The New to You Boutique is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Thursday 10 a.m. -7 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Call 569-0014 for more information.
