General News: Gently-Used Prom Dresses Wanted

From St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital
Beautiful, gently-used prom dresses will be sold for a fraction of their original price – some as low as $20 – thanks to two local organizations’ efforts to make this magical event more affordable and accessible for girls in our community. St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital Auxiliary and Mount Saint Mary College Latin Student Union have partnered on Prom Fest ‘09, which will be held March 21 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the New to You Boutique, Route 94, New Windsor.
Donations of gently-used prom dresses and other formal wear, and accessories including evening handbags and shoes, are being accepted at drop-off locations throughout our area until March 18. Members of our community are urged to rummage through their closets for this great cause.
Auxiliary President Barbara Mehar said, “Going to prom can be very expensive and many girls simply cannot afford to buy their dream dress. With the help of our community, we’ll be able to make hundreds of low-cost dresses available, ensuring that every girl attending prom has the opportunity to feel confident and beautiful on that night.”
Donations of gently-used prom dresses, formal wear and evening accessories can be made through March 18 during regular business hours at any of the following locations:
