Wednesday marked the first day of classes for the 3,009 students enrolled in the Cornwall Central School District.

Beginning soon after sunrise, students waited for buses or walked to one of the five schools in the district.

At the elementary schools, many parents accompanied their children, all eager to begin a new school year.
