It may have been chilly on Friday night but that didn’t stop someone from vandalizing school property at the Cornwall Elementary School at Lee Road, police report.

Cornwall police chief Todd Hazard confirms that vandals broke a window in the maintenance department behind the school, sprayed graffiti, including the letters “HOS” and knocked over trash dumpsters, spilling the contents.   Chief Hazard also says that vandals destroyed some Christmas decorations on Willow Avenue during the night.

Vandalis also struck  Lee Road school last month.  On November 18, police investigated a report of graffiti sprayed on a red barn behind the school.  Police noted that the graffiti included a mushroom, “school sucks” and “B.L.T.” (Blue Lotus Tribe) and a lotus flower.

On Saturday morning, school custodians were cleaning up the spilled garbage in the parking lot next to the school.

Chief Hazard says police don’t have any suspects yet but he thinks the vandals are “obviously juveniles.”
