The middle school art club showed off its colors and skills at an exhibit of their pastel drawings that opened on November 20 at Munger Cottage in Cornwall.
At a reception for the students and their parents, art teacher Gina Dianis praised the student artists’ work, which featured their interpretations of a pumpkin still life. She talked about how the students let their art take them to new dimension and pointed to one pumpkin that had been painted a royal blue color.
She introduced Bob Rosenburger, a retired illustrator from West Point, who spoke about his work with the children in the art club. “Today is an opportunity to celebrate art and the creative talents of our artists with the community.”
Rosenberger, whose wife Dorothy worked at the Willow Avenue school, said he enjoyed his first time helping the students shape their work.
The students’ pastel drawings will be on display at Munger Cottage through December 4, 2008
