Members of the Storm King Fire Engine Company #2 are busy preparing for four days of fun at the department’s annual fair to be held this year from July 21-24.

This year, the fair opens on Wednesday evening and features Binky the Clown from 7 to 8 pm and a performance by local fav, rockers Hank and the Skinny 3, on the music stage from 7 to 10 pm.   Adults can enjoy Vegas Night, with blackjack, joker-7, the money wheel, and more. Thrill-seekers can board the rides all night every night for $15 a person. Rides will also be open on Thursday during the day from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., (raindate: Friday).

Members of the fire department will be cooking their famous cheese steaks, burgers, sausage and peppers and more every day and if you get there between 6 and 7 pm on Wednesday or Thursday, the food is half-price.

The fire department has a great line up of performers this year.  On Thursday, DJ Milichous will be taking your requests and on Friday, the COH police "Fatal Vision" takes to the stage while K-104 offers its Wheel of Prizes on the fairway.

Saturday night, the fair welcomes Adam & The Newhearts, performing great hits from the '50s, '60s and '70s. At dusk on Saturday look for a fireworks extravaganza sponsored by Dewit Insurance Agency and Shamrock Shows.

Comments:

This years fair should be dedicated to the memory of our friend Bob Gosda, a dedicated 50+ year member of SKFE CO#2. Bob gave so much of his time and energy to the success of the fair, year sfter year. Bob is sorely missed and the village seems emptier without his presence and smiling face. It would be a fitting tribute to this selfless man, who did so much for so many. We miss you Bob.

Thank you, Mr. Reid. I know how much SKE #2 meant to my father (and his father, Edward Place, before him), and how he loved to deal blackjack at the summer fair.

I miss him very much too, and I know that while he is in a much better place now, he surely misses each person who makes Cornwall-on-Hudson a village.

Thank you.
