General News: Major Softball Team Wins Section 2

Cornwall Major Girls advance to the New York State final four tournament following an 8-4 win over Northern Columbia on Wednesday evening.
As the 2007 Section 2 champs, the team will start this weekend in Brewster, NY in a double elimination tournament.
Coach Ed Staudle set the goal of winning the section championship with the girls on June 16th at their initial practice. They have had one day off since the All-star posting, June 15th. The girls have practiced hard and have played harder bringing them to a 9-1 record entering the state finals.
Coaches Ed, Eric & Bob are extremely proud of this total team effort. Everyone has made big plays and had special moments during the district and section tournaments. The girls have played together mentally, physically and with "madness" to "finish the deal."
